On Thursday, October 5, Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose gave out three new cars and donated N100m to teachers in the state.
This was in celebration of the 2017 World Teachers Day celebration in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Governor Fayose presented brand new Hyundai Xcent cars to the best teacher in primary school, Mrs Ojo Grace and the best teacher in secondary school, M Ephraim Egunjobi. He also gave a brand new Kia Rio car to the best headmaster, Mrs Anike Apata.
According to Punch, he said that the best teachers would go to Dubai or London on all expense paid trip.
The governor also donated N100m to teachers in the state for the success recorded in the National Examination Council Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. The state emerged first in the examination. He promised to increase the incentive to N150m if the feat is repeated in 2018.
As a show of gratitude, the teachers assured the governor of their support for his anointed successor, deputy governor, Olusola Kolapo.

Adeyeye accused Fayose of attempting to derail the LG election in his state by introducing rules and restrictions that do not exist in the Nigerian constitution.
PAY ATTENTION: Watch more videos on NAIJ.com TV He said: “In the first instance, Governor Fayose created his own constitution by fixing the maximum age for chairmanship candidates at 50 years while maximum age for councillorship candidate at 30 years against the provisions of Nigerian constitution."
