Willian had been linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge this summer.
After three Barcelona bids and interest from Manchester United, Chelsea successfully held onto their key player.
Manager Antonio Conte was finally sacked in July, despite winning the FA Cup in his second season in charge.
With Sarri now manager, Willian hopes for a better relationship with the 59-year-old Italian.
“I hope he’s not the same as Conte! Willian told ESPN Brasil.
“I’m joking… I think Conte was, for me particularly, a
manager that was difficult to work with. His philosophy, his logistics,
to manage there, is very complicated.
“I’ve had some games that you don’t understand,
you’replaying very well and are taken out, you don’t understand, twice I
headed out of the game and went straight to the dressing room.
“So it was a bit difficult working with him. But in life we learn from that too.”
Willian has also slammed Conte for his handling of striker Diego Costa, revealing the Italian also had issues with David Luiz.
"He also had problems with David Luiz and Costa," Willian told ESPN.
"With Diego, I remember it was after the season. I was in Australia with Brazil and Diego texted me.
"He said, 'I'm leaving, Conte said he doesn't need me anymore'. I said, 'What do you mean?'
“And he said, 'He texted me saying that he doesn't need me on the team anymore and I'm not supposed to go back'.
"You don't lose a player like Diego Costa. It was a difficult situation."
