However, Ushbebe, in a new interview with newsmen, said it was only a joke but it was taken to another level.
In his words;
“I didn’t crack a joke about DJ Cuppy alone; I cracked a joke about over seven people and some others seated in the hall. I don’t understand why people singled out the joke I made on DJ Cuppy. I also talked about Davido who is always dragging envelopes with entertainers despite coming from a rich background.  I attacked Wizkid and Mercy Johnson too. It was a comedy show. When you just take two seconds from a long video and put it online, you are obviously looking for attention and controversies. Something led to that particular video scene online.”
The comedian mentioned that if same was said about him, he would not as well take it lightly.
He however insisted that it was just a joke and since he had to make people laugh at his show, it was necessary to say something hilarious.
“What do you expect to hear at a comedy show? If it was not a joke, people in the audience would not laugh. People attack me too but it has not stopped me from doing my work. Criticisms always make me stronger. I told Efe Money before that he was a bad musician, but he is now a better musician,” he said.
On the outcome of the show tagged Chronicles of Ushbebe, he revealed that he was pleased with the outcome.
He said;
“I didn’t nurse any fear that it would flop because we had been making plans for a long time. We didn’t lose money, but you cannot compare my event with that of Davido or Olamide. It is a comedy show and we had a lot of media partners. It was also a big challenge to get sponsors; we were only lucky to get Indomie on board. When you want N15m and you need to take loan to meet up, it is always taxing because you could get the money from the big brands if they were supportive. I worked more with investors.”
