The Sun launches Android mobile app


IN a bid to advance its market reach and ICT adaptability, The Sun has launched its Android Mobile App, The Sun Nigeria.
The mobile app, with the trademark crimson red background and white lettering of the brand, according to the newspaper’s management, was carefully created with distinct features, to make it stand out as The Sun Nigeria. It is available on Google Play Store.
According to Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, The Sun Publishing Limited, Mr. Eric Osagie, the mobile app is designed for the upward mobile readers, who want to keep tab with happening across the world.
He revealed that The Sun mobile app is not only easy to download but also user-friendly.
Osagie said The Sun Nigeria mobile app has a distinct features to differentiate it from some other newspapers that bear the same brand name, in the United Kingdom, Australia, USA and other parts of the world.
He said the “Nigeria” addition to the app identity was intentional to stand it out from the rest on the Internet or Google Play Store, where brand identities compete for distinction.
“We carefully and painstakingly created the app identity, in line with our culture of uniqueness and exactitude. It took some time to create and launch because we wanted to get it right,” he said.
Osagie urged readers of The Sun to log on to the Internet on their gadgets, mobile/hand-held, desktop, laptop and others to download the app through Google Play Store, to read The Sun’s fresh, hot and spicy reports.
He gave assurance that the launch of The Sun Nigeria mobile app was yet another of many accomplished advancement efforts of the publishing company lined up for introduction in the coming years.
“We had, in the past, strengthened our web platform, adopted the e-newspaper, widened our social media platforms, ensured 24-hour constant website updates, sustained a lead in news breaks and many others. The Sun Nigeria mobile app is another of our latest milestone,” Osagie said.
