It’s too early to pay much attention to the Premier League table, but we’ve compared every team’s results so far to the corresponding fixtures last term – and it’s good news for Manchester City and Manchester United but less so Chelsea and West Ham.
City and United currently level on 19 points at the top of the Premier League table and are separated only by the Blues’ superior goal difference.
Reigning champions Chelsea, meanwhile, have already lost twice this season and have ground to make up if they are to repeat their success.
Unsurprisingly, the figures don’t make for good reading for Crystal Palace and West Ham fans.
Note: As they cannot be compared fairly, we have taken out all results from matches including newly-promoted sides Newcastle, Brighton and Huddersfield.

Winners & Losers
Watford under Marco Silva have been the biggest improvers this term, picking up eight points more than against the same teams last season.
Burnely have also enjoyed an encouraging start, with Stoke and Manchester United the third-biggest improvers.
Crystal Palace and West Ham have suffered the biggest drops, picking up six fewer points this season. Chelsea, meanwhile, have endured the third-biggest drop, collecting five fewer points.
