National Coordinator All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has described the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship campaign flag off as a political macabre dance that will yield no fruitful result in Anambra.
Speaking with newsmen in Awka, he said APC as a party has nothing to offer the people of the state.
According to him, the mission of APC in Anambra State is to impoverish the people the same way some of their governors that attended the rally impoverished those they are governing.
Obigwe said Anambra people cannot be hoodwinked into voting for APC despite Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s promise that the APC-led Federal Government will complete the 2nd Niger Bridge.
“The trio of Governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State lack moral justification to tell Anambra people to vote for Tony Nwoye.
“The Kogi State governor should bury his head in shame for owing Kogi civil servants11months salary that pushed one of them, known as Soje, of the state’s teaching service commission to commit suicide because of his inability to meet up with his financial obligations.”
Obigwe also said Rochas Okorocha as governor failed Imo indigenes and the entire Igbo race by honouring Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa, in Imo State with the erection of a gigantic statue when Igbo are being massacred in South Africa.
He further said that el-Rufai insulted Igbo with his widely reported comment as chairman of APC restructuring committee, that Igbo are unequal to northerners and for that reason, cannot be treated equally with northerners in Nigeria.
He said: “APC in Igbo land represents bad luck. The people of the state will not vote for APC on November 18 because doing that is tantamount to Igbo bringing bad luck upon themselves.
“Governor Willie Obiano remains the best choice of the people of the state and nothing will stop them from re-electing him for a merited second term.”
